Taxis
In Ethiopia, public transportation includes various types of taxis: Minibuses, Woyeyets, contract taxis for individual hire, and Bajajs serving rural areas. All taxis share a red license plate marked with the number "1" on the left side, issued to all vehicles engaged in taxi transport services.

Additionally, every country's embassy has its own unique number on its license plates.
Police Vehicles
Police vehicles have license plates with yellow background and black alphanumeric characters, featuring the word "ፖሊስ" on the left side. This plate is issued to vehicles owned by the police.
